LogicGlue's Claude Connector

Claude's connector allows you to easily connect LogicGlue (& your Xero account) with Claude via MCP.

What LogicGlue's MCP Does

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that allows AI assistants like Claude to securely connect to external tools and data sources. LogicGlue's MCP server is what makes that connection possible between Claude and your Xero account.

When you connect LogicGlue to Claude via the Claude.ai Connectors, LogicGlue's MCP server acts as a secure bridge - translating your natural language questions into structured Xero API calls, fetching the relevant data, and returning it to Claude in a format it can reason about.

What it enables Claude to do:

  • Query your chart of accounts
Look up account codes, types, balances, and status
  • Retrieve invoices, quotes, and payments
Filter by client, date range, status, or amount
  • Pull financial reports
P&L, Balance Sheet, Bank Summary, and more
  • Access payroll data
Employees, pay runs, super funds, timesheets (AU Payroll)
  • Analyse contacts
Debtors, creditors, payment behaviour, aged receivables
  • Fetch bank transactions
Reconciled and unreconciled, by account or date
  • Access external data
ABS economic indicators (CPI, GDP, labour force, WPI) and live currency conversion, to give your Xero data real-world context

Key things to highlight:

  • No data stored — LogicGlue does not store your queries or query results
  • No AI training — your financial data is never used to train AI models
  • Xero-certified — reviewed and approved by Xero
  • Read-only — the MCP retrieves data; it does not write to or modify your Xero account
  • Works inside Claude.ai — no separate app or dashboard to manage; just connect and ask

How to set up LogicGlue connector with Claude

Before connecting you will need an active Xero (trial is fine), LogicGlue (trial is fine) and Claude subscription (Free Claude users are limited to one custom connector).

Open Claude on desktop Web or app. (can't be Claude mobile - once set-up, the connector can be used on mobile).

Step-by-step setup

  • Open Claude Go to claude.ai and sign in. The desktop app works the same way.
  • Open the Connectors page Either: Navigate to Settings → Customize → Connectorsor From any chat, click the + button bottom-left (or press /), hover over Connectors, and choose Manage connectors
  • Browse the directory Click the + button next to Connectors and choose Browse connectors. The Connectors Directory will open.
  • Find LogicGlue Use the search box and type LogicGlue. Click the LogicGlue card when it appears. You'll see a description, supported tools, and read/write capabilities (read-only in our case).
  • Click Connect Hit the Connect button. Claude will open a LogicGlue authorization window in a new tab.
  • Sign in to LogicGlue Sign in with your existing LogicGlue account, or create one if it's your first visit. If your Xero is already linked to LogicGlue, you're set.
  • Approve access Review the permissions LogicGlue is requesting, then click Allow. The window will close and you'll be back in Claude.
  • Confirm it's connected LogicGlue should now appear in your Connectors list with a green status indicator. You're done — no URLs to paste, no tokens to manage.

Troubleshooting

Most commonly, this means your LogicGlue session has expired or your Xero connection inside LogicGlue needs re-auth. Sign in to LogicGlue directly, confirm Xero is still linked, then retry the connection from Claude. Once connected restart Claude.

In your chat, press +, hover over Connectors   >, and confirm LogicGlue is toggled on for this conversation.

If you have many connectors active, mentioning LogicGlue or Xero by name in your question gives Claude a clear hint to use it. For example, "Using LogicGlue, show me..."

Open Customize → Connectors → LogicGlue → Configure and check whether the relevant tool is set to Never allow. Switch it to Always allow or Needs approval.

Disconnect LogicGlue from Claude (Settings → Connectors → click LogicGlue → Disconnect), then re-add it. This forces a fresh OAuth flow.

If you have ten or more connectors active, switch to On demand tool access mode. Press /, hover over Connectors, then Tool access, and choose On demand. Claude will only load LogicGlue when your question clearly needs it.

FAQs

Only what's needed to answer the question you asked, and only for the duration of that response. LogicGlue acts as the data layer; Claude reads each tool result and reasons over it. Nothing is permanently stored on Anthropic's side.

No. LogicGlue is a read-only connector. Claude can analyze, summarize, and report, but it cannot create, edit, or delete records in Xero through this connection.

Yes. Once you've added the connector on web or desktop, it's available in the Claude iOS and Android apps. You just can't add a new connector from a phone yet.

Go to Settings → Connectors, find LogicGlue in the list, click drop-down arrow and click Disconnect. This revokes Claude's access immediately. Your Xero data and your LogicGlue account are not affected.

Yes. Connectors work across Claude, Claude Desktop, Claude Code, and the API (via the MCP Connector). The directory listing (coming soon) makes LogicGlue available everywhere Claude is.
